Real Estate figures provided by MRED of single family home sales contracts for Glen Ellyn and Wheaton show home sale contracts rebounding from the 2008 decline. Although home sale contracts in the first half of the year were lower compared to those from 3 prior years, the last of half of 2009 has outpaced all 3 prior years with home sale contracts because September contracts had the strongest rebound in past 4 years. From the data provided, contract sales typically taper off in the second half of the year.

Glen Ellyn parks argues over rec center - A call for an external audit on a project that has gone about $4 million over a referendum passed by Glen Ellyn residents and then paid for by a bond issued in August was rejected by the park district's board Monday, leading to an exchange among commissioners that ended with people in attendance walking out and admonishing board President Sandy Minogue.
