Glen Ellyn commuters could be impacted by the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee decision to cut $450 million a year for CTA, Metra and Pace capital improvement projects.

According to Crain's Chicago Business, Chicago-area mass-transit leaders are screaming at the top of their lungs about a bill awaiting a vote in the U.S. House that they say could cost the Chicago Transit Authority, Metra and Pace as much as $450 million a year in capital funds.

After 11 Glen Ellyn plan commission hearings and two village board meetings, village trustees unanimously gave approval Monday to a controversial proposal to install lights at a Glenbard West High School practice field.
