Glen Ellyn Real Estate Home Sales November 2009

Real Estate figures provided by MRED of single family home sales contracts for Glen Ellyn and Wheaton show home sale contracts rebounding from the 2008 decline. Although home sale contracts in the first half of the year were lower compared to those from 3 prior years, the last of half of 2009 has outpaced all 3 prior years with home sale contracts because September contracts had the strongest rebound in past 4 years. The following is the response from Glen Ellyn Park District President Sandra Minogue regarding GEL's inquiry about how the GEPD Board solicits public input:

GEL SHARE: Did You Know V2 Online Video

Back in April, 2009, I posted the Did You Know V2 online video that presents many remarkable facts about the dynamic world we live in today and how it's being shaped for the future.

My wife saw it for the first time yesterday and we shared it with our 8 and 10 year old children. I thought it's so compelling I thought it made sense to post it again for more recent viewers to access.

Having attended several Village Board meetings and recently attended the latest Glen Ellyn Park District Board meeting, I was curious about some differences in how the two Boards handle or solicit public input during its meetings.

It seems the Glen Ellyn Park District currently limits public participation to one 3 minute time slot per person towards the beginning of its meetings. It does not appear that the GEPD board solicits public input thereafter during agenda topics discussed by the board during its meetings, thus limiting public interaction and input.
