GEL VIDEO: To Light, or Not To Light, Memorial Field in Downtown Glen Ellyn?

Lighting Plan for Memorial Field

On February 7, 2011 the Glenbard School District 87 Board was scheduled to vote on approving the installation of lights at the newly renovated Memorial Field across Crescent Blvd from Glenbard West High School.

Adding field lighting within downtown Glen Ellyn is unprecedented and deserves much public awareness and dialogue. GlenEllynLife.com videotaped the public discussion to aid in educating the citizens about the concerns and reaction from residents about adding lights to Memorial Field would have on the downtown. The video includes: public feedback, input from Assistant Superintendent for Business Services Chris McClain, and board member deliberation.

The board agreed to revisit the topic on January 22, 2011 board meeting.
