Hundreds of spectators viewed a variety of cardboard boat designs Saturday in Lake Ellyn Park in the 17th Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta.

Vogue Award: (most spectacular or prettiest-looking boat)
Bike Shop Bunny, with captain Harrison Gardner

Pride of the Regatta: (most creative design and best use of corrugated cardboard)
The Lulu, with captain Nick Mellinser

Best- Dressed Team: (the costumes may be funny, spiffy, or elegant...but they must be creative!)
SS Minnow, with captain Chris Veldman

Team Spirit Award: (most-spirited and best-organized (?) team... the looks of the boat don't count here!)
Log Jam and Jim Craig

Titanic Award: (most spectacular sinking... to qualify, you must salvage the remains completely)
the Revenge of the Davy Motz, with captain Aiden McArdle.

Open Division ~
First Place: Log Jam, captained Jim Craig
Second Place: Pirate's Booty, captained Doug Hatlestad
Third Place: Team Xtreme, captained Brad Carlson.

Youth Division ~ (14 years old and younger)
First Place: Lock Ellyn Monster, captained by Jack Kellenberger
Second Place: Moonracer, captained by Rick Mannion.
Third place: Chicago Bears, captained by Jeremy Goyak.

Instant boats ~ (boats made within two hours)
First place: SS Burrito, captained by Sue Stibal
Second place: California Dreamer, with captain John Worthen.
